What is Bluebird?
Bluebird is a membership-first private aviation service. Bluebird owns and operates its own Learjet 60 fleet, and members get unlimited access to published empty-leg flights at no extra cost, plus instant pricing on custom charters. There are no brokers and no per-flight markup.
What kinds of flights can I book?
Two things: published empty-leg flights, which are repositioning flights our jets are already making, and custom charter flights, where you choose your own route and time.
What aircraft do you operate?
Our owned-and-operated fleet is the Learjet 60, a midsize jet that comfortably seats up to seven passengers with a full lavatory and a true coast-to-coast range in North America.
Where do you fly?
Empty legs are published primarily across North America. International legs (typically to and from Mexico, the Caribbean, and Canada) are flagged with an INTL badge. Plus members fly them at no extra cost; Base members pay a one-time $1,000 International Pass per international flight.
What cities and airports do you fly out of most often?
Because our Learjet 60s reposition across North America, you'll see frequent empty legs from major private-aviation hubs like Teterboro (KTEB), Westchester (KHPN), Van Nuys (KVNY), Las Vegas (KVGT/KLAS), Dallas (KDAL/KADS), Houston (KHOU/KIAH), Miami/Opa-Locka (KOPF), Naples (KAPF), and Scottsdale (KSDL). International routes most often touch Mexico (Cabo, Cancun) and the Caribbean.
Is Bluebird a jet card or a fractional ownership program?
Neither. There are no pre-paid flight hours to deposit and no aircraft share to buy. Bluebird is a flat-fee annual membership: pay once and fly published empty legs free, with on-demand charter pricing on the same Learjet 60 fleet whenever you want a custom trip.
What's the difference between Bluebird and a broker?
A broker resells flights on aircraft they don't operate and adds a markup on each trip. Bluebird owns and operates the Learjet 60s under its own Part 135 certificate, so the price you see is the price we fly for — no broker chain, no per-flight markup, and one team handling the aircraft, crew, and dispatch.
What is an empty-leg flight?
An empty leg is a flight one of our jets is already scheduled to make without passengers — for example, repositioning back to a home base after dropping off a charter customer. Rather than fly empty, we publish those legs to Bluebird members.
Why are empty legs cheaper than a regular charter?
The aircraft, crew, and fuel for that leg are already committed, so the marginal cost of carrying you is dramatically lower than booking a fresh trip. That's why members fly empty legs free as part of membership, and non-members can buy them outright at a steep discount to a comparable on-demand charter.
How does the queue work?
When a leg is published, members join its queue. When the queue closes, the highest-ranked member wins the leg and is given a short window to confirm. If they decline or time out, the next member in the queue is offered the leg.
How is queue position decided?
Queue rank is, in order: members who purchased Skip-the-Line on this leg, then Plus members, then Base members. Within each band, ties are broken by who joined the queue first.
What's the difference between Base and Plus?
Both Base ($5,000/yr) and Plus ($10,000/yr) include unlimited domestic empty legs at no per-flight cost, and both see new legs at the exact same time. Plus adds higher queue priority over Base members on every leg, and unlimited international empty legs — Base members can still fly international legs but pay a one-time $1,000 International Pass per international flight.
What is Skip-the-Line and how much does it cost?
Skip-the-Line is a one-time $2,000 per-flight upgrade that puts you ahead of every other member in the queue and locks the cabin to your party. Any Base or Plus member can buy it on any leg they're eligible to fly.
What is the International Pass and when do I need it?
International legs (to/from Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada) carry an International Pass fee on top of your membership. Plus members have it included — $0 per international flight. Base members pay a one-time $1,000 fee per international flight when they join the queue on an international leg.
Do I get a discount for inviting friends?
Yes. Every member has a personal invite code. When a friend uses it during signup or activation, they take $500 off their first year and you earn a $1,000 credit toward your next renewal as soon as their membership activates.
What happens if the operator cancels or reschedules?
Flights are subject to cancellation due to mechanical or operational reasons up until departure, and our membership is best suited for travelers who are flexible and able to adapt if plans change. If a leg is canceled or rescheduled, you'll be notified by email and SMS as soon as we know, with options to rebook on another leg or, for paid purchases, receive a refund.
Can I bring guests, and how many seats are there?
The Learjet 60 typically seats up to seven passengers. You can bring guests up to that limit. If you want to lock the cabin to your party so nobody else can join the queue ahead of you, add Skip-the-Line on the flight detail page.
What is Buy It Now and who can use it?
Buy It Now lets a non-member purchase an unlocked empty leg outright at a fixed per-flight price, bypassing the queue — no membership required. It's available to signed-in users who aren't members yet, when the leg isn't already locked to members and the queue is still open.
